Meet the Team

Jane Beard

Owner/Supervisor

NNEB, RSH, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Level 3, Basic Food Hygiene

Jane qualified at Norland Nursery Training College in 1981 and worked for many years as a private nanny for families both in the rural counties and abroad. When she had her own son Samuel, she set herself up as a childminder, which continues to this day; when the chance arose to start a new preschool Jane took up the challenge and the Beehive is her opportunity to provide first class care for the children from the local community.

Tara grew up in Tavistock and once qualified worked in a local children's nursery for many years before having her own children. Tara is married to Alan and has two children called Izzie, and Zak. Debbie

Assistant Playworker

Qualifications NNEB, BA (ed), Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Level 3, Basic Food Hygiene

Debbie joined us in September 2019, she lives in Horrabridge with her partner and has a son.  Debbie was a Primary teacher for over twenty years before taking early retirement.  However, she found that she missed the contact with the children and welcomed the opportunity to join the Beehive.

Bee & Pat

Bee and Pat come over every Wednesday and Bee prepares and serves the fruit and drink at snack time. Bee also makes tea and coffee for the staff, and she clears up beautifully.

Bee communicates with the children using Makaton sign language. She is teaching us a new sign each week, so far, we have learnt hello, goodbye, please, thank you and happy birthday.

We all love Bee and Pat and look forward to them coming each week.
